University Partners Program (UPP)

The University Partners Program coordinates the needs of local businesses, non-profit organizations, and university programs with the research projects of BTW instructors and students. Local organizations can become clients for particular BTW courses by submitting a problem they would like students to help solve and agreeing to be available to students as they research those problems. Teams of students in the course present their results and recommendations to the client at semester's end. The goal of UPP is to give students experience solving problems of their local communities while also providing the structure and instructional resources of the classroom.

Recent work includes:

  • feasibility studies
  • menus
  • brochures
  • grant proposals
  • website designs

Current and recent clients include: The Writers' Workshop, The Inquiry Page, and the Illinois Fire Services Institute.
